Rain, rain, and more rain...

I recently found myself in a huge downpour of frozen rain, then turning to snow. I had decided to save a little money and buy an army surplus waterproof jacket. Well, it was water proof for about an hour; then it was water absorbant. So here is my pick for great wet weather gear. Remember, you get what you pay for!

The North Face Stitchless Fountainhead Guide Jacket

  • The stitchless, fully welded design saves precious weight and offers exceptional durability
  • HyVent™ Alpha 3L is a microporous, hydrophobic lamination technology that combines superior breathability with excellent waterproofness
  • Sealed seams enhance waterproof protection
  • High-abrasion areas are reinforced with stretch panels for mobility and durability
  • Fully adjustable attached hood, waist skirt with cinchcord and hem drawcord seal in warmth
  • Pit zippers provide ventilation to help regulate body temperature
  • Articulation is welded into the elbows
  • Two hand pockets won't interfere with pack straps; also includes a Napoleon chest pocket and a bicep stash pocket
